GRG Automated Fare Collection Systems Go Live in Shijiazhuang-Taiyuan Railway

Guangzhou, China - Opened in April 1st, the new 190-km high speed Shijiazhuang-Taiyuan railway linking the north and the west of China, brings convenience to passengers by significantly slashing inter-city travel time. GRG Banking as the sole Automated Fare Collection (AFC) self service system provider to the project,  overcame a number of challenges to ensure a successful implementation.

State of the art TVMs (Ticket Vending Machines) and PTVMs ((Platform Ticket Vending Machines) were deployed at the Taiyuan Station, the provincial capital of Shanxi, China. "GRG AFC self-service equipment operates very well,  including the peak hours, when the highest transaction volumes have reached over  600 per day. With virtually no downtime since the installation of the AFC equipment, this has given us the confidence to work with GRG on additional projects." said the Chief Officer of the Shijiazhuang-Taiyuan project.

As part of a diversified development strategy, GRG moved into the AFC market in 2006.  In less than 3 years, GRG has grown to be one of the most influential AFC self-service equipment providers in China with terminals and devices deployed in most major cities in China.
