September 30, 2011, the ATM Industry Association (ATMIA), the global non-profit association for the ATM industry, announced today that three new directors were joining its Board of Directors, from the USA, Canada and China.
The three newly elected directors are: Mark Yip, Managing Director, GRG Banking Equipment Co., Ltd (China), Chris Chandler, CEO & President, Access Cash (Canada) and John Leehy III, President and Chief Executive Officer, Payment Alliance International (USA).
Current ATMIA President, Tom Harper, commented: “These three influential men bring a level of expertise and connection that will benefit ATMIA and ultimately the entire industry. Through this board expansion, we will be reaching new levels of geographic strength in Canada, the U.S. and Asia.”
Mark Yip, based in Guangzhou, China, explained that people in Asia love cash, with many countries in Asia being “big cash” countries, driving ATM expansion in the region. “We will devote our efforts to developing recycling technology and standard cassette technology to raise the efficiency of cash handling,” Mr. Yip said.
